HUMBER RIVER ESTATES - Out and About

Take a trip to the Gros Morne National Park

COURTESY NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR TOURISM
In 1987 the UNESCO added the Gros Morne National Park to the World Heritage list. Here you can visit the settlements of the Vikings, the first immigrants of Newfoundland.

The East Coast Trail extends over 200 km along the west coast shore offering vistas that are every hiker’s dream. Along the way you will encounter a geyser, a bird sanctuary and dramatic rock outcroppings. The area is well-known for its wildlife. The pinnacle of your hiking experience may be the watching of a whale, bear, moose, eagle, gannet or puffin.

Along the rugged coastline you will find colourful fishing villages, deep fjords and majestic mountains. Particularly spectacular are the whales which travel very close to the coastline in the summer months.

Newfoundland is a hunter’s paradise. Here, the world-renowned hunting grounds for moose, bear and caribou are to be found. Experienced guides as well as hunting licenses can be acquired through the resort management.

Marble Mountain, just 30 minutes from the resort, provides facilities for all kinds of winter sports such as downhill skiing, snow boarding and cross-country skiing. In winter the snowmobile is one of the most popular means of conveyance in Canada. Explore Humber Valley and the surrounding area on a snowmobile outing on one of the 1,200 km trails or even use it instead of a car to move within the resort.

Humber Valley Land provides innumerable sport and leisure activities both in summer and winter and many possibilities for shopping and dining.

For more information please contact Humber River Estates. Flight reservations can be organized for you.
